My current series of work, Converging Forms, is based around the conical form. Unusually I work with recycled magazines, layering them onto wood and turning them on the lathe. The contour effect created reveals intriguing glimpses of broken and hidden text and pictures.
Other aspects of my wood based practice include the use of hand dyed veneer layers, and ply board, seeking out interesting and dynamic ways of revealing lines.
As a craftsperson I reveal the qualities of my chosen materials through the woodturning process, paying close attention to the fine balance between artistic control and serendipity.

I studied Contemporary Crafts at MMU Cheshire, graduating 2010 and I now have a woodturning studio in Sandbach Cheshire where I craft contemporary decorative pieces for sale.
